SEVIS

What is SEVIS? The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) is an electronic reporting system that provides the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with information on international students who hold F visas. DHS has created this internet-based record-keeping system to maintain electronic data for all students and dependents. The system also tracks entries into the U.S. and departures from the U.S. Every school that admits students on F visas is mandated to implement SEVIS.

In order to keep your SEVIS record active, you must request a SEVIS transfer from MELP to another SEVP-approved U.S. school.
